Today was one of warm temps and total sunshine. It was a HOT 40 degrees at the top of Beaver Creek and 53 degrees at the bottom. This led to alot of snow melting and at the end of the day the snow was like the foam on root beer. We may have to go to A-Basin tomorrow which is 13,000 ft high. I am sure the temps will not be as warm. Even these warm conditions didn't bring out more skiers. As I was writing today's blog, 9News was reporting that reservations were down 40%. Even Zack's Cabin, which is a restaurant on the slopes, had VERY few people.
Record breaking temps are in the forecast for Denver. They expect it to hit the low 70's for the remainder of the week.
