Early this morning the temp was -6 degrees. At 10am, the temp was +1 so we decided to go skiing. At the slopes it was a cool 12 degrees in the sun, just right to ski. At the FREE parking lot one of the locals was telling us that the parking lot used to be a airport runway. Legend has it that a small yellow plane was making a landing when it hit a truck that was parked on the runway. The front of the plane passed right thru and landed about 20 yards from the truck. The rear of the plane got stuck in the truck (see pictures). No one was injured.
The day was a very sunny one and allowed for some skiing in the trees. The lift lines increased to about a 30 second wait. With President's weekend coming up maybe we will see more skiers. The weekend forecast calls for snow, but who really knows.
